Bright Shelled Paint at the Millenium Series

So I think this is a good thing.

In order to make the game more interesting, appealing to mainstream audiences by making it easier to follow allowing spectators and TV audiences to watch games unfold in a much clearer way, only Lime green (Pantone 375c, 376c, 368c) and Bright orange (Pantone 1505c, 021c, 1585c) shell will be allowed.
For reference, here are a couple of the colours:

There's a post on PBN that has a video showing the difference shell color makes. It's really noticeable.

Even in 480 the difference is quite clear.

Sina and I have been talking about this since about episode 2 of "The Rookie" - he posted on the RED forums about the issue and he mostly figured out that it would be far better shooting away from the sun and with bright shelled paint. It's nice to see there's something going on for the spectators and videographers.

Wow that brings back memories of what Fox tried for hockey.

Dirty Engineer: I can't see why anyone would have that comparison in their head, but I enjoyed laughing at those clips you posted.

    Because...

Is almost word for word what Fox said then introduced the glow puck.

While the description may be similar, the outcomes are very different. Hockey has a central focus, and doesn't even need that central focus to be present 100% of the time to be easily followed and enjoyable to watch. Paintball is decentralized and chaotic, not easily watchable by anyone not already familiar with the format. Highlighting the puck is not necessary, highlighting a stream of paintballs is.

HD fixed hockey TV viewing. Paintball is a harder problem. I'm just glad someone is trying.

PS 11 year old me though FoxTrax was about the coolest thing ever
