Me too, Solidworks for CAD, Tebis for CAM. I'm relatively new at Solidworks but pretty happy with my progress. Unfortunately these files started out as iges so there would be no nice history to work from and modify in Solidworks. Haven't decided if I will do all the modifications I want in Solidworks or Tebis. Either would work. To start with I just imported them into Tebis for a look see.
Unfortunately I have little to no CAM experience. Most of what I design is produced on a CNC Plasma table, formed in a brake press, or made from structural steel.
Today's project, as an example:

Are you planning on going with a traditional gas impingement system or a piston system? Reliability is superior with the latter system and adds that "modern" feel to it all.
I always thought they should have an ambidextrous magazine release.
Piston is definitely the way to go. Cleaning a gas-drive AR is a PITA.
Simon, got something for you if you want it...
