Making a cocker frame sit flush?

So a friend and I were bouncing ideas back and forth for a custom body for an autococker, just some milling designs mostly. But he brought up the idea of rounding off the bottom and the frame to sit flush, like some of the newer electros do. I know there has to be a reason this hasn't been done before/wouldn't work, but for the life of me I couldn't give him an answer as to why it was no good. All I can think of is is the sear/trigger plate not lining up?

The sear spacing is a big one.

There is also the meat for the threads to hold the grip, but that can be recessed. A custom grip and body could do what you are looking for. But not being able to swap in the few hundred different autococker parts the individual enjoys could be part of the reason so many still rock the classic measurements.
