Had a complete, full-up bi-directional run of the Morlock programming app w/USB programming functionality. Picking up a CO2 fill and bag of paint on my way home from work today to test the 'cocker with it. They will ship next week, watch this space for ordering info.

This includes wiring harness, on/off switch, 9v battery clip and probably a USB cable. It also includes full access to all the source code and what will hopefully be a community of projects, starting with a full port of the Morlock code, and a PC (Windows 7 so far) compatible GUI programming interface.
So I needed a dynamic memory allocator. a good one. a small one, damnit, that someone sane might actually put into a teeny embedded system with 512 BYTES of memory.
