Got to shoot an Empire Sniper at Tunaball 6

The weekend of May5th I was finally able to get my hands on and put some paint through a new Empire Sniper. The Topgun pump team "GSP" will be running with them this year I believe.

Obviously, I did not do any kind of extensive testing. It was more like "GIVE ME GIVE ME GIVE ME", which is usually how I am around new paintball stuff. Yeah, im a greedy whore like that. I just wanted to check it out and see what it was all about.

Truthfully, having built too many sniper type pump guns over the years, I really didn't have any expectations on the new Empire gun. I mean crap, 'another sniper based pump' right? Secondly, I always thought CCM guns were the top dogs, even though I never owned a complete factory built CCM marker. Thirdly, I have too many guns now anyway and am not in the market, so my interest purely stemmed from my gun whoring curiosity.

Well fuck me sideways, because I should have never touched the damn thing.

    A couple of observations;
-The pump handle, although it looks a little funky, fits real nice in your hand. Not too big, not too small - unlike the CCM ones which I find to all be kinda small. The stroke is nice and smooth with just enough 'ku-clink' to make it still feel like you are actually pumping something. I didnt have the opportunity to see if the stroke could be adjusted shorter or not, but it did not seem overly long.

-Love the feedneck and the asa.

-The barrel is pretty nice. I would buy the kit as apposed to changing it entirely.

-The trigger, while at a glance looking very weird and kinda cheapish - was surprisingly awesome. Great pull, and the trigger itself seems very sturdy and smooth. I would take the Empire frame and trigger over any other WGP/Sniper frame out now. It's that nice.

-The ability to add and remove the hitman handle is a nice feature. Personally, I hate them, but Im sure there are a lot of little aggies who like to grab dangling protrusions.

This pump reminded me of all of the things I love about my ancient 1994 WGP sniper 2 but with all of the modern attributes you want in a new gun. Very solid, sturdy, but light and nimble. I really like that the pump doesnt flop around like an aging porn star.

Yeah, damn it I'm buying one. Going to probably get it custom annoed to.

Just what I need to fill all of those empty voids in my life.

I am looking forward to playing with mine again this weekend.

The Sniper comes with that barrel kit with the three backs. I just wish we sold the other backs to give everyone the chance for a full kit. I am still pushing to try and get it released on it's own and with all 5 backs...

There are 2 other backs? Size info?

I want one (Sniper) and will have one some day.

I keep forgetting we lost the huge Sniper thread.

It has a .675, .680 and .685 barrel back with it. All 7.5" control bore length.

Also comes with a spring loaded tube feed magazine.

The Sniper's really an amazing value. Feature packed. And on my short list of "paintball guns I must have".

    I'm with BigEvil here...

I stole/"borrowed" Simon's Sniper for almost the entire day that I played. Truly a pleasure to play with.

Great gun. I wished I had time to sneak away at LLV to play but sadly that did not happen.
