    PSP Ramping

    Hey guys,

I've been going through rulebooks to understand the rules for ramping, I'm working with PSP right now. I'm trying to figure out how PSP ramping is activated, this is what I've found:

5.3.6.3.2. The trigger has been pressed and released at least once per second since the first of the
    four trigger pulls.
I'm interpreting that as a 1bps pull for 4 pulls to activate then 1 bps pulls to sustain. Can that be correct?

    Here's the rulebook:http://pspevents.com/wp-content/uplo...3-Rulebook.pdf

    For Millenium:

The first 3 shots must be semi-auto mode only.

Markers will be limited to a ROF of 10 balls per second, defined as no two consecutive shots
    may be timed shorter than 95ms apart (reading on ROF meter of 10.5 bps or less is legal;
reading on ROF meter of 10.6 bps or higher is illegal).

Clarification: 5 bps for start/sustain ramping does not need to be hit physically, it refers to the
time delay between trigger activations, which must be at least the equivalent to 5 bps. So a
marker may start to ramp up to 10 bps, if (after the first three shots being in semi-auto only) the
time delay between 3rd and 4th trigger activation is less than 200ms.
So here's how I'm reading this - you can pull the first three shots as slowly as you want, with zero time limit, as long as the third and fourth shot are separated by less than 200 ms the fourth shot can start 10 bps ramping. Correct or incorrect? Is there a time limit (real or practical) before those first two shots expire?

    Thanks for any clarification!

I've always understood it as this:
Hit 5 bps for 4 shots (or min ramp level)
Gun ramps to 12.5 (or max level).

But I'm not so sure I'm correct after reading the millennium rules.

Having played PSP format events in the past, my interpretation is as follows:

~4 semi shots, at a minimum of 1 pull per second
~5th shot would start ramping up to 10.5 (or 12.5)
~1 second timeout between any of the shots would reset the pattern

so if you're just getting on the trigger it would look like:

    (1) (1) (1) (1) (3) (3) etc....

Ahh the fun of rules written by people that don't really know what they are saying or trying to get across.

It's been a while since we had to deal with this nightmare at KEE.

For PSP I believe it's start the ramping on the release of the fourth pull.

For Millennium (they could never get it straight with us) IIRC the first shots still have to be spaced to achieve 5 bps.

We ended up asking Flash over at PE for clarification since he was closer to them than us and usually seems to know what he's doing

    Cool, thanks for the info.

And sorry, just realized I probably posted in the wrong sub. My bad!
