check it out... i think I got the pitch and depth close..
    Looks pretty close to me.

I just found out that Inventor has a thread modeler built in (would've saved me tons of time had I known about it before).

If someone has a stella and a 3-d printer I can send them the file to test and see how well it works.

Solid works has a tool library but that thread is not in the default choices.... So... I dusted off the machinist handbook .... Very small print in those things.... Hard to read

That sounds fun. One thing I could see being a problem with your tac tip is the final orientation due to threading. It'd be possible to fine tune it so it hits the last thread at the location you want, but something to keep in mind.

    I thought about that too.
If there was a threaded hole to put a nylon tip setscrew that would help line it up better to the desired position.
    Just thinking out loud

that could work. Before Ninja came out with their newest rotatable reg collars they had some plastic shims that would help adjust everything. Low cost/low tech option too.

The crush oring also gives some flexibility in how you can align the tip.

I think you are right if it's just the tip and the oring does give it enough stability.
I guess my initial thought for a set screw would be for a heavy attachment or to prevent twisting from leaning up against a wall or bunker.... I suppose the only way to know for sure is to try one out and see how it does with a laser.. Go pro.... Bayonet....lol

Good point. If you do mount a camera to it, a nylon set screw or two would be a smart idea to lock it into place.

Final render image before sending off to get printed.
Flat black seems to be a fitting color choice.
Fingers crossed it comes in before I leave for cup.
