Been there, done that. Though, having a single skill? Meh.
You need a good bit of every skill. And common sense.
I grew up there off the grid during the summer, out of reach at a place you can only get to by boat or plane. 30ft tide swings, and no power except your own generator. 3 wheelers or boats to get around, and you boated or flew in your food, so most things were made from scratch.
You have to be able to cook, clean, build, fix, hunt, fish and shovel. Watch out for bears, fall your own wood to heat the house, sew up your clothes and the rest.
A single skill won't really cut it, unless they are looking for the drama of you having to learn the rest of it.
Why aren't they looking for women?
Dont want distractions or headachs. Friend of mine that works on the north slope says the women up there look just like the bears.
