If it's a good enough bourbon, straight or slightly iced works. If not a good bourbon, I'm a fan of crème mixtures like egg nog or chocolate milk.
I've had real absinthe in Europe, which IIRC contains wormwood for the psychotropic response, and it did nothing for me aside from one of the worst hangovers of my life.

I've had it again recently and was very good in a cocktail, but I love licorice and anise flavor.

The only absinthe I've had that had any kind of effect was distilled in a bathtub in the Czech republic. Friend's wife's brother etc etc.

Still a barely noticeable effect, though.

It's like how the best tacos are sold from the back of an unmarked van, and the best barbecue comes from gas station parking lots

    Except eastern Europe...

So sick of moving targets for documentation here at work.

We've got a process that's... ongoing & absolutely useless from what I can tell for documenting algo failures etc.

None of it makes any sense(like, with the established process, we can't figure out what question the document is actually answering); the goalposts are constantly moving, yet we're expected to have these done with the regular software releases.

I'm now... 2 releases behind on all the SW I own because the safety org can't figure out what they actually want. Getting to the point of just telling them to bugger off and come back when they've figured their own shit out.

    /rant. weak rant, but w/e.
