I don't get more than 1Mbps - though netflix inexplicably works fine. Bad wiring in the house and I cbf paying to get in fixed.

I can watch youtube and netflix no worries and have fibre at work if I'm desperate. No real issues.

I'm not sure if you really believe this... companies the size of Comcast lobby both sides of the aisle, because they need politicians from both sides to ensure anything gets done. Their spending is more slanted, from the last numbers I found, toward the Democrats.

I get it, the GOP are one of your favorite boogie-men. Claiming they're behind something dark and sinister doesn't always make it true.

Was about to post the same thing Pump Scout was.

The sad part is I know it was Gordon trolling.

Why do they Lobby? Because lobbying WORKS!

its true, they buy both sides.

but in the net neutrally debate, it was the GOP they were buying. and we got classics like "net neutrality will be the obamacare of the internet" as a result. and lets face it, as far as being corporate whores, the GOP is the go-to party. they only buy off the dems because sometimes, they win some seats somewhere, somehow.
social conservatism: the mortal fear that someone, somewhere, might be having fun.

I get 75-80 at home with atlantic broadband and a solid 50 here at the shop with them so its not much of an issue for me but i still download everything i get the chance to, some so i can load onto the kids ipads to keep them occupied in the car and during extended appointments, more so because if there is something i want to watch i dont want to have to search netflix, hulu and the tivo to find it...

So, yeah, the GOP gets a bit more of the Corporate Cash, the DNC get almost all of the Labor Union cash.

So this is actually disgusting... I just applied to a company and their password requirement was the following:

Password must be eight characters long, contain at least one special character, one capital letter, and a number.

EIGHT CHARACTERS. REQUIRED. What the fuck?!

Our log-in password for our underwriter's system has that same requirement. You'd think we were holding nuclear launch codes or something.

I have mine on a Post-it taped to my monitor so I don't forget it. Otherwise... honestly... I'd forget it.
