Well, it sounds just about stupid enough for someone in paintball to use it :P
But seriously that's strange that the single leaded gauge fit at all.
Yeah, that's what I was talking about. Thanks. BTW, if one of you smarter people will hop in the slambolt thread I am struggling with the dye back cap threads. A metric 1.25 gauge fit the threads perfectly. After looking, they're definitely double lead threads. I assume I'd divide the measured pitch by 2? So, for a DM7 I come up with a M16.5 x .625 double. Sound right?

It was just one of those gauges that looks like comb with the threads notched in a thin blade. I am not really sure why it worked either, but I suppose the distance between the threads works out about the same regardless of leads. That's why I'm thinking that it should just be divided by 2. Does the logic make sense?
After thinking about it a moment, my thoughts are that makes it M16.5 x 2.5 double?
Not sure though, someone else should confirm.

Well that would mean that you had threads with twice as many revolutions and double leads... unless I'm confused as hell.
aaaand it deleted it
for metric threads it would be double since the designation is pitch diameter
standard threads would be half pitch
