Tolerances
Does anyone have an easy rule of thumb for setting tolerances for a machinist? (I'm sure I'm asking for an overall simplification)

It really depends on what you want to achieve, but for PB aplications on raw Al, H7 seems to be the limit most referred to (at least for barrel threads in raw bodies):

About 0.030 for a sliding fit with no consideration for the anodizing layer, if I read that chart correctly.
