trump supports plan to cut legal immigration by half: https://www.nytimes.com/2017/08/02/u...migration.html

you are either bold face 100% lying to our faces, or a moron.

this is all of course based on the basic fallacy that if it was the illegal part of illegal immigration that republicans were against, and were totally cool with legal immigration, they would be in favor of a path to citizenship, the dream act, immigration streamlining and reform etc etc none of these things would be vehemently voted against at every opportunity.

so besides a 10+ year history of trying to cut legal immigration, and actually reducing legal immigration through executive enforcement policy, they are totally in favor of legal immigration?

you are either lying, or a moron. this is not an honest conversation. you don't care that you are just lying to our faces.

Because it's from Nov. 9, before what's her name resigned. The governor refuses to create a formal complaint so an investigation can be conducted (I suspect because he knows the outcome).

Ohhh, you didn't know Brenda Snipes did, in fact, resign. Sorry, but pointing out an instance of mismanagement in one county isn't really comparable to a national network dedicated to voter suppression. I feel dumber for having to point that out.

If you look up "bad faith governance" you'll find a picture of an elephant.

its never been about fighting fair.

remember, only in favor of democracy so long as it continues to maintain the economic and social status of those making choices. as soon as that is no longer true, they are no longer supporters of democracy. and totally in support of minority rule. they arn't even concealing there efforts any more.

    it isn't an honest conversation.

and people don't think we are literally in a fight with fascism on daily basis in the USA:

    @TeaPainUSA

Today, the feller who makes non-secure cell calls forgave his daughter for doin' the same thing he said Hillary should go to prison for, then sided with a murderous autocrat against an American resident before a report emerged he ordered the Dept of Justice to jail his enemies.

we are literally, in a fight, with fascism, every day.

Nothing says "pro-life" like the death penalty. At least now we can drop the pretense and admit it's about control over women's bodies.

it was never an honest conversation. this one is way too easy, even besides the notion of the death penalty for an abortion. we have ways to drop abortion rates dramatically. scientifically and proven in the real world ways. they are called, free birth control (not condoms), and comprehensive sexual education. these two together dramatically reduce abortions. a further step would be to support women in carrying children to full term, things like better healthcare coverage for mothers and babies (having babies is fucking expensive, esp for the poor), mandatory paid maternal leave etc etc

these things all dramatically reduce abortion rates. want to stop and prevent abortions? lets do them. they work. period. full stop. there is no debate. there is no discussion. they work.

if you are against abortions, and not for esp free real birthcontrol (ie the pill, IUDs etc etc), and comprehensive sexual education, you arn't actually against abortions, you are simply interested in punishing women who have sex.

    its not an honest conversation.

What's dishonest is not even attempting to understand the psychology that leads to seemingly morally disparate positions. It's so crazy to me how you can base your politics on empathy and yet not apply that to discourse.
    "So you've done this before?"
"Oh, hell no. But I think it's gonna work."
