    Sydarm build

I finished up the eclipse (for the moment) so I'm starting with my left over parts:

I couldn't get the vert Asa off.
Are there negative implications to sawing that part of the rail off?

Aside from losing the fore grip.

    (shakes head)

Okay, take PB Blaster, soak it a bit. Retry. Then if it fails, drill. Because of the layout of the bolt drilling will make it fall off, with a screw head retained in the ASA, which I see you are not using.

    Good luck!

I can either duracoat it or try some blackener from caswell.

I hear great things about duracoat but I am always nervous with finishes like that and how they will chip etc.

I really want to try a hot-process powder coating on a marker sometime. I read somewhere it can have comparable thickness to a type III ano process if you want.
