    Question: Pump action markers

Question: Do pump action markers still need to rely on air systems? Certain species of waxed woods have the same, if not better, coefficients of friction than brass or aluminum.

Familiar with the Airow-gun? (Hope I spelled that right)

It is effectively a tube with a piston attached for launching paintballs with a compound bow.

Nice thing about Air is that it does all the work for you. Do you really want to cock a crossbow each time you fire?

I wouldn't mind looking into something like a semi-automatic ballista. Hand cranked mechanism pulls back the strings, have a feed tube for paint and you're good to go.

I do agree that air helps a lot.
