I would stick with the 12g just because it is so easily found in paintball.

is it possible to get some less specific files for this? like a dwg or something i could import with in 3dsmax?

It's a 3D file so ideally you want to be able to bring it in as 3D. What other formats can 3dsmax import and what do you plan to do with it once it is imported?

I believe 3Dsmax works a lot with polygons doesn't it? Maybe an STL file? But then it wouldn't be as convenient to edit/modify.

3DS Max will take almost any file - except Solidworks. Which is strange, considering even AutoCAD can now open Solidworks files.

I've had the best luck using IGES files between AutoCAD and 3DS as well as AutoCAD and Solidworks.

I can save it as an inventor file and put the link up. Just give me a little bit to upload it.

Here's the Inventor files. Let me know if they don't work.

    Base (ipt)
    Assembly (iam)

Here are igs files if they work better.
