Thread: Micro-Morlock design thread - Now called the DNA board

  1. #31
well Curt, i as someone who makes new harnesses for B2K and Defiants, being able to use parts i already have means a lot to me, in that i will already have the market on new harnesses. i'll get the parts for the header to see if these are the ones you will be using.

Are you planning on coming out with adapters or something similar or leaving that up to the end user? I think having some sort of adapter to the major marker brands flagship markers would be the best, then go from there.

Been trying to keep my model up to date with what you're posting on the blog, but so far I could only figure out where the 10 pin goes. Curse my electrical stupidity!

servo controll could also be used to controll a hopper. With not having the extra groung and v+ pins does this mean no more dual solonoid controll?

On PBN it was mentioned that having a template with a microswitch, buttons and screen mount would be pretty cool. Just like, a secondary board, even if it was a blank pcb (could really be anything...) that has a mount for the screws and microswitch and stuff on it, so it makes an easier time for the end user.

not sure if that sentence is grammatically correct, but I think the point can be understood.

Really want to model the board? okay well here are a few things.. first of all, the header I am using is a smidgen smaller than the part you have there, which I presume is from some kind of parts library, it is one of these: http://media.digikey.com/pdf/Data%20...2%20Series.pdf 10-place variety.

Now then, on the bottom there will be a 3-pin 90-degree header which is exactly the same as you might find on an R/C reciever, something like these: http://www.futurlec.com/Connectors/HEADRAS40.shtml

The middle 4 holes are the USB interface, that will be a 4-pin vertical header most probably like this: http://www.harwin.com/include/downlo...gs/M22-201.PDF

As for the components, they will be both on top and bottom, and be standard SOIC-ish type components, 0402 resistors, 0603 capacitors.

The connector on the bottom will allow expansion to a daughterboard (I have several planned, but the primary one will be a board hooked up to one of these: http://www.crystalfontz.com/controll...April_2008.pdf

I am still waiting on components to come in, when they do I'll have some prototype stuff to show.

I meant more along the lines of a pre-cut board to fit inside grip frames, so as to mount where the stock board would.

The DNA could then be secured to this in some way... it was just brought up by others and they thought it was a good idea so I told them I'd relay to you!

Curt, does this look right so far?
Seems like the 4 pin would possibly run into the 3 pin if I have it drawn right.

no, the three-pin header is upside-down

also the tolerance is a bit looser on the current version of the board, so the connectors don't run int
